The Omicron Eta chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County wishes to hold its seventh annual Undergraduate Research Conference in Political Science in the spring. The past conferences have been greatly successful with about 100 people – students, faculty, staff, and administration – in attendance. We would like to invite ten to twelve students to present original research they have conducted during their tenure at UMBC as poster sessions. The conference is proposed for Wednesday, April 1st between 11am and 1pm on the second floor of the Public Policy Building at UMBC. A light lunch will be available to those who attend. As in previous years, students will submit proposals to a committee consisting of students and faculty by early February. The chosen presenters will be informed later in the month and will attend an information session to learn what is expected of them. At the conclusion of the event, a monetary prize will be awarded for the best poster. The award committee will consist of two anonymous political science professors (it will not include the faculty advisor to Pi Sigma Alpha). Award winners will be announced at the annual Political Science Reception, which will be held later in April after the conference.
We are requesting $972.00 to hold the conference.
