Please join us for this exciting event, which will provide a highly interactive forum for students to share their research, participate in professional development activities, and network with their peers, as well as Pi Sigma Alpha alumni currently working in a range of settings. Learn more about the history of the conference here.
Location: George Washington University, Washington, DC
Dates: February 14-16, 2025
(Accommodations and other logistical information will be available on the conference app in the coming weeks.)
Thank you to our Faculty Program Committee:
Dr. Natasha Bingham, Loyola University New Orleans
Dr. Aaron Smith-Walter, University of Massachusetts, Lowell
The conference is free and open to all who register (though student presenters must be Pi Sigma Alpha members). When registering, attendees will be asked whether they are attending virtually or in-person.
All attendees must agree to abide by the PSA Code of Conduct and all in-person attendees must conform to the COVID-19-related attendance requirements.
Access to the conference app, which includes the full conference schedule and other details, will be provided to all registered participants closer to the event. Guests can register on-site at the conference. All attendees must register and get a badge to attend any conference events.
Do you have questions about the conference? Reach out to the PSA national office (office@pisigmaalpha.org).
All Pi Sigma Alpha members who are current undergraduates or Master’s students are eligible to submit a proposal for a paper presentation. Each proposal should consist of a 250-word abstract and title.
The Program Committee is interested in all proposals focused on an issue relevant to political science. Selected proposals are often grouped into substantive themes common to political science including American politics, international relations and comparative politics, and political theory; however, we are also particularly interested in proposals exploring timely political issues related to race, ethnicity, and politics, climate change, and abortion rights.
PROPOSALS DUE: November 30, 2024
Limited travel grants are available for presenters (between $200-300 per student on average). Information about applying for travel grants will be sent out along with conference acceptances.
Pi Sigma Alpha takes the health and safety of our conference attendees very seriously and will continue to monitor health risks related to the COVID-19 pandemic. At a minimum, all conference attendees will be required to follow the rules and guidelines laid out by George Washington University. Currently, rates of respiratory illness in the United States are very high. To protect your health and the health of your fellow participants, we encourage all attendees to mask when not eating or drinking. Additional COVID-19-related requirements may also be required to attend. Pi Sigma Alpha will notify all conference participants of any additional health requirements if applicable.
